FirstEnergy reported fiscal year 2018 executive compensation information on April 1, 2019.
In 2018, seven executives at FirstEnergy received on average a compensation package of $4.3M, a 29% decrease compared to previous year.

Charles E. Jones, Chief Executive Officer, received $11M in total, which decreased by 27% compared to 2017. 63% of Jones' compensation, or $7M, was in stock awards. Jones also received $1.3M of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $1.7M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.1M in salary, as well as $41K in other compensation.
Leila L. Vespoli, Chief Legal Officer, received a compensation package of $4.1M, which decreased by 19% compared to previous year. 53% of the compensation package, or $2.2M, was in stock awards.
James F. Pearson, EVP, Finance, earned $3.9M in 2018, a 35% decrease compared to previous year.
Steven E. Strah, Chief Financial Officer, received $3.5M in 2018, which decreases by 12% compared to 2017.
Samuel L. Belcher, SVP & President, FE Utilities, earned $3.1M in 2018.
Donald R. Schneider, President, FE Solutions, received $2.9M in 2018, which increases by 4% compared to 2017.
Bennett L. Gaines, SVP, Corporate Services & Chief Information Officer, earned $1.4M in 2018.
