MetLife reported fiscal year 2018 executive compensation information on April 25, 2019.
In 2018, six MetLife executives received on average a compensation package of $8.5M, a 15% increase compared to previous year.

Steven A. Kandarian, Chief Executive Officer, received $17M in total, which increased by 18% compared to 2017. 47% of Kandarian's compensation, or $8.2M, was in stock awards. Kandarian also received $585K of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $5.5M in non-equity incentive plan, $1.3M in option awards, $1.6M in salary, as well as $291K in other compensation.
For fiscal year 2018, the median employee pay was $73,464 at MetLife. Therefore, the ratio of Steven A. Kandarian's pay to the median employee pay was 237 to one.
Michel Khalaf, President, U.S. Business and Europe, the Middle East and, received a compensation package of $11M, which increased by 76% compared to previous year. 32% of the compensation package, or $3.5M, was in non-equity incentive plan.
Martin J. Lippert, Executive Vice President, Global Technology and Operations, earned $7.9M in 2018, a 34% increase compared to previous year.
Steven J. Goulart, Chief Investment Officer, received $6.7M in 2018, which increases by 40% compared to 2017.
John C.R. Hele, Chief Financial Officer, earned $4.8M in 2018, a 10% decrease compared to previous year.
John D McCallion, Chief Financial Officer, received $3.3M in 2018.
