Costco reports 2018 executive compensation

CEO W. Craig Jelinek receives $7.4M

Costco reported fiscal year 2018 executive compensation information on December 14, 2018.

In 2018, five Costco executives received on average a compensation package of $4,760,602, a 3% increase compared to previous year.

W. Craig Jelinek, Chief Executive Officer, received $7,408,513 in total, which increased by 12% compared to 2017. 84.98% of Jelinek's compensation, or $6,295,829, was in stock awards. Jelinek also received $97,000 in bonus, $107,888 of change in pension value and nonqualified deferred compensation earnings, $800,000 in salary, as well as $107,796 in other compensation.

Richard A. Galanti, Chief Financial Officer, received a compensation package of $4,286,893, which increased by 7% compared to previous year. 73.49% of the compensation package, or $3,150,444, was in stock awards.

Joseph P. Portera, Chief Operating Officer, earned $4,100,211 in 2018, a 7% increase compared to previous year.

Paul G. Moulton, Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer, received $4,022,591 in 2018, which increases by 7% compared to 2017.

James P. Murphy, Chief Operating Officer, earned $3,984,802 in 2018, a 7% increase compared to previous year.
